- Who do I contact first? The insurance company or a public adjuster?
This is completely up to you, but we always recommend contacting Mid-Atlantic Public Adjusting first. If you have already contacted your insurance company, we can still step in and takeover and assist you from just about any point in the claims process.
- Who has by best interest in mind; the insurance company or a public adjuster?
The public adjuster does. Always. The insurance company will have an adjuster representing them with the goal of minimizing their payout to you. The public adjuster’s goal is to maximize the payout that is owed to you, the policyholder.
- What is a public adjuster?
A public adjuster is a professional insurance adjuster who advocates for the policyholder in appraising and negotiating an insurance claim. Public Adjusters are licensed by their respective State’s Department of Insurance and are the only type of claims adjuster that can legally represent the rights of the insured during the insurance claim process.
- What does it cost to hire a public adjuster?
Nothing up front. Public adjusters charge a percentage of your settlement and do not receive payment until you do. Because Mid-Atlantic Public Adjusting will most often get you a far better claim settlement than what you are originally presented from the insurance company, it often pays to hire us.
- Where will my family stay after a devastating loss?
Let us worry about that. Mid-Atlantic Public Adjusting will make sure that you and your family have a comfortable place to stay and that you are reimbursed for loss of use and all of your additional living expenses.
- Where can I find more information on what qualifies as a loss?
Please visit our Types of Loss page or call us.
- When do I know that I need a public adjuster?
Whenever you are unsure or overwhelmed with the possibility of a loss.
- When do I contact a public adjuster?
As soon as you notice or suspect any damage to your home or property.
- Why should I hire a public adjuster?
Public adjusters are legal representatives for you, the policyholder. They are licensed and bonded by the State and are very educated on the rules and regulations of the insurance industry, as well as the laws of the Fair Claims Act. Remember that the insurance companies have their own adjusters on staff working towards the best interest of their company’s bottom line. Shouldn’t you have someone working on your side, too?
- Why choose Mid-Atlantic Public Adjusting?
Because our goal at Mid-Atlantic Public Adjusting is to balance the scale by fighting relentlessly to make you, the policyholder, whole again in your time of need. Let our knowledge and experience in the insurance claim process rid you of worry and get you the fair and balanced claim that you deserve.
